- Teknik X-Wing — Expert skyscraper grids leave the tall digits ambiguous between exactly two cells per line — the X-Wing on 9 is less a trick here than the intended mechanism.
- Swordfish technique — Opposing clue pairs synchronise 8's possible columns across three rows at a time; the expert endgame usually closes with a Swordfish on 8 or 7.
